Witchcraft
The idea of witches and magic has been around for centuries, the first mention of one being in the bible over 600 years before the common era. Witches have always been seen as this evil being that can perform magic against the fate of others and have a connection to the undead. Today they are mostly seen as folklore, a fun Halloween costume, or a fun fantasy element to a storyline. But is there some truth to witchcraft that our world just can't seem to explain yet?
Most people connect the idea of witchcraft to the Salem Witch Trials where many people would kill young girls and women who they believed to be witches. This started when two young girls began convulsing and having delusions, which we now believe is due to a medical reason. They would put these women through tests in order to determine whether they were a witch or not, which would ultimately end up in their deaths no matter what. Witches were often seen as enemies to God and to the Bible. There is a long history of witches that I want to explore and how these ideas can be explained.
There are people today who still practice witchcraft and believe they have this connection to the unknown. However, they do not want to be seen as something that is evil with their motto as "harm none," and they strive to live and peaceful life with nature and humanity. How has the history of witchcraft impacted the world, and how do people practice witchcraft today? What connections does witchcraft have to the paranormal and death? Do psychics and manifestations have a strong connection to witchcraft and magic? I am excited to explore these compelling questions for my class project.

There is a lot written about the history of "witchcraft" accusations in early American history, and a lot of different ideas about what led to the various witchcraft hysterias.
